Coach Boat Safety Training:
The Ontario Sailing Coach Boat Safety course is a nationally recognized safety training course that is required of all dinghy instructors in Canada. Topics covered in the course are basic powerboat operation; sailboat rescue techniques; mark-setting for a sailing lesson, and general water safety content.
As a Sail Canada Learning Facilitator, I offer private or semi-private Coach Boat Safety courses to individuals or groups who are unable to attend and participate in the group classes offered by Ontario Sailing.

VHF Radio – ROC (M) Training:
The Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) is Canada’s certificate of qualification to operate a radiotelephone in the maritime mobile band. Sailing instructors and pleasure boaters alike are required to hold this qualification if they use a marine VHF radio. I offer private or semi-private courses and examinations for individuals or groups who are looking to get certified to use the VHF radio without the hassle of enrolling in a formal course with the Canadian Power Squadron.

Sailing Instructor/Coach Development:
Following the Sail Canada instructor pathway and the National Coaches Certification Program training models, HowarthSailing.ca is a recognized provider of CANSail Fundamental and CANSail Technical instructor clinics. For consistency across course providers, these clinics are organized by Ontario Sailing and registration is completed through their website at OntarioSailing.ca
